Korčula is the historical centre of the island having the same name. It is located in the Pelješac Channel and featured by rich monumental heritage and cultural tradition . It is also Marco Polo’s birthplace with long nautical tradition. Nowadays it is focused mostly on the tourism that, except various kinds of accommodation, provides great entertainment – famous sword dances Moreška and Kumpanija, and prominent wine sorts  - Pošip, Rukatac and Plavac.
